Twisted Views on Discipline and Respect

I have been doing anything and everything the last couple of days to avoid the nasty truth that I need to be doing some serious studying. One of the things that I have been doing lately is getting lost in cyberspace, thousands of websites, blogs, sources of information, and some non-sense. I however came across one website that I could not but share with you all over here:

Here's a peek into what this site included;

"Lately, I feel like her shopping is out of control! And for some reason, she stopped pairing up my socks and now they're just thrown in my drawer. Is it time for a spankning? What would you MEN do?"

Astonishing eh?

Now to an even more astonishing answer from someone who claims to be a man of God:

"Well Brother Elmer, I have not yet been blessed with a True Christian™ wife. But I am a Pastor, and speaking from the perspective of Jesus, I encourage Men to spank their wives at least once a week AT RANDOM. Especially at this time of the year, they tend to get all flustered and even more addle-brained than usual, what with shopping lists, stuffing recipes and baking vast quantities of snickerdoodles, they need a little attention grabber.

A good whipping delivered for no apparent reason really keeps them on their toes, I can tell you.

And don't forget that the Holy Scriptures tell us that women are not only to be obedient, but to be in "subjugation". 1 Timothy 2:11-15"

Unfortunately, I did a more extended search to find lots and lots of similar website, which are not talking about this whole thing from a sexual point of view, but a disciplinary one, where a woman is practically an object which needs to be obedient enough to win her husband's heart, and obedience comes with the delivered spankings…

SICKENING!!!

That was my quick irrational comment about the stories I've read. But let's discuss this rationally now… I do like to consider myself a religious person, I have my share of mistakes, but I try my best most of the time. The thing is, I do NOT understand how these people consider themselves as religious people who understand God's message to people on Earth, when they can't apply one of the most basic rules God sent to humanity; one about respect and love… I am not sure where this Pastor guy got his information from, but I am sure God wouldn't want a woman to be spanked randomly to earn her husband's love and respect!

If a couple include spanking in their love life for the fun of it, then yes, they should go for it as much as they wish, but actually doing it to punish your partner for what YOU consider is "misbehavior"? What kind of relationship is that supposed to build?

Attention: whatever emotions these strategies develop, it cannot be earned respect, it could be fear, but not respect...

Again… SICKENING!
