A tropical storm warning remains in effect Monday for Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula as Tropical Storm Dolly nears Cancun.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami says the storm is moving northwest near 15 mph and is expected to cross the peninsula and move into the Gulf of Mexico later in the day.

Dolly is expected to produce about 4 to 6 inches of rain across the northern Yucatan peninsula and in western Cuba.

Also, Tropical Storm Cristobal is headed for the open Atlantic as forecasters discontinued tropical storm warnings along the Carolinas.

Meanwhile in the Pacific, Hurricane Fausto is expected to continue moving northwest. Forecasters expect the hurricane to weaken to a tropical storm in the next two days.
