Dara Torres has set another American record at the U.S. Olympic swimming free trials, winning the 50-meter freestyle.
The 41-year-old Torres got off to the third-slowest start Sunday night but was in control midway through the most furious lap in swimming. She touched in 24.25 seconds, breaking the mark of 24.38 she set the previous night in the semifinals.
Already the oldest American swimmer to claim a spot on the Olympic swim team, Torres had already ensured a trip to Beijing by winning the 100 free.
