1. Samsung Galaxy S

Samsung has gone miles ahead, with its qualitative products. This year was entirely Samsung’s year in the mobile world. It has offered the cheapest devices, which are based on Android. The only Android based device having the incredible Super AMOLED Display is Samsung Galaxy S. With its home-brewed Touch Wiz UI particularly improves the usability of this interface. Also, you have choice for internal storage between 8 and 16 GB, which is quite enough to store DivX and XviD videos for playing via Galaxy.

Thumbs Down:

This device has no flash option for the camera; also no key is dedicated to camera.

2. Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10

For me, Sony Ericson has always stood second. Earlier, it was following Nokia now it’s Samsung. So lets check out where Sony stands in android world. Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 has all the facilities that would make it the leading model of Sony Ericsson. With its CPU, huge high resolution screen, and sufficient amount of RAM this device has everything that would place it in the list top-end Android smart phones in the market.

Thumbs Down:

This device has no DivX or XviD video playback. Also, it doesn’t provide smart dialing option. Only 512 MB space is available to the user for installing apps. The device doesn’t feature a secondary camera for video-calling; also no complementary GPS navigation solution is offered. This device doesn’t support FM radio connectivity, and has a feeble loudspeaker.

3. HTC Desire

As simple as its name, HTC is known for its simple and cute mobile devices. The design has the power of capturing its consumer’s mind. HTC Desire has a Android OS v2.1, 3.7 inch large capacitive AMOLED touch-screen, 1GHz processor, and five megapixel autofocus camera.

Thumbs Down:

This device provides only 512 MB space to the user for installing apps. Also, it has no DivX or XviD video playback, nor it supports

voice dialing.

4. Motorola MILESTONE XT720

The list is incomplete without Motorola MILESTONE XT720, as it has everything to be one of the best Android phones. Some prefer Motorola brand, but the overall specifications and the design line of the device will definitely attract people. Competition is getting tougher for the Motorola MILESTONE XT720, since there are several bigger screens better devices in market. Also, it doesn’t have a Snapdragon.

Thumbs Down:

This device doesn’t have DivX or XviD video playback, nor does it support voice and smart dialing. The camera interface is somewhat clumsy. GPS navigation app offers a trail of 60 days only. Here, the web browser doesn’t support flash.

5. HTC Legend

HTC Legend is the younger brother of HTC Desire. All its features

are somewhat less than his brother. It is still capable of being in the competition. HTC Legend has aluminum suit of armor. The device has AMOLED display with a screen size of 3.2 inch. Another disadvantage is Qualcomm processor, MSM 7227 600 MHz CPU. Also, the camera cannot record 720p videos. It supports only dodgy flash video.

Thumbs Down:

This device doesn’t have DivX or XviD video playback, nor does it support voice and smart dialing. The camera doesn’t have lens cover or dedicated shutter key.
