Do women owe there existence to men?
It has come to that. The world economic crisis has to be blamed on someone. The Europeans said it was the fault of the greedy Americans. The Americans said it was the fault of the greedy business elite. But Brazilian President, Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva said it was the fault of white men with blue eyes. He spoke while receiving the British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown.
Thank God I do not have one of them blue eyes.
President Lula Da Silva said he did not know any black banker. Well, I got news for Da Silva. He needs to get out more. My cousin is a banker. And he is black. He has blue eyes too but they are just contact lenses.
Jokes apart, it is interesting when you remember how our world was some 100 years ago. Then, white men with blue eyes who make up 13% of the world ruled more than 80% of it. In the last 100 years, their influence has diminished significantly.
But to a larger extent, they have retained control of a large part of the financial world. London, New York and Zurich have ceased to be known as centers for the production of tangible items. These days, they just produced fuzzy financial products that turn toxic when exposed to the sun.
President Lula Da Silva may be up to something. He may be opening a new front in the global conflict of our day. He may be replacing the clash of civilizations, West Vs East, with a war between white men with blue eyes and pink men with brown eyes.
Thank God I am not one of those. I will stand back and watch, just as I have done in the last 100 years.
