This Nonsense Islamic Caliphate Idea

If the title of this piece has set your blood boiling, maybe you should stop here. I intend to jerk your so-called objective reality and that may mean that you will be hitting your head on the ceiling by the time it is over.

In the past, it was the ridiculous desire for 72 virgins that lured young Islamic men to terrorism. In recent cases, as the educational level of the recruits increases, the lure seems to be this desire to build a new Islamic Caliphate that will dominate the world again. That aspiration was found in the writings of Umar Abdul Mutallab and the U.S. Army psychologist, Major Nidal Malik Hasan.

I am sure nobody taught those of you who believe in this how the world really works. I will give you a free history lecture.

Civilizations have vortex. Empires come and empires go. The Akkadian Empire begets the Ancient Egyptian Empire which begets the Assyrian Empire which begets the Persian Empire which begets the Roman Empire which begets the Arab Empire of the Rashidun caliphate, the Unayyads caliphate, the Abbasids caliphate, the Fatimids caliphate and the Ottoman Empire. Then there were the Mongol Empire, the British Empire, the Communist empire and the American empire. The American empire is on its way out.

When Empires die, petty states emerge from the ruins of empires. Some of these states continue to wear the emperor’s robe. They are the ones who have an exaggerated sense of importance. Arabs conquered the world in the seventh and eight centuries. “What has sped is dead.” The path of God should restart from home. The Ottoman Empire has come and gone. It won’t be back for another three centuries. Did you hear that? It is gone for a long while.

So relax.

Stop puffing.

The Arab world contributed to world civilization as we know it today. The track records are there for all to see. Those who seek the rebirth of those days do not have to look so far back. However, to restore the Arab world to its lost glory requires less propaganda and pedantry but more focus in the pursuit of excellence.

So let all you mis-educated youths who dream of invoking a dead empire channel your energy into better things.

If you really want to get on with the program of the future, stop memorizing the Koran and start learning science in Chinese language. That is where the world is headed to.

Instead of blowing up airplanes you cannot build, try building faster and more efficient airplanes. That is how the world will tread to your doorsteps.

Instead of going to London and demanding the institution of Sharia law, try to use whatever laws that you have in your arsenal to make your Middle East an ideal society. People from London will be so impressed that they will demand Sharia Law for their country.

Instead of cursing Las Vegas for its hotels, whores and alcohol, begin by cleaning up the palaces of your Kings and princesses where alcohols and whores flow like water.

Instead of searching for bombs and amulets, begin by recapturing the lost Muslim scholarship of Arabic algebra and geometry derived from enriched Greek science.

The genius of Arab civilization has been replaced by a misplaced anger over the discontentment with Arab’s recent failures.

After the Chinese and Indian Empires comes the African Empire. Yes. That hopeless continent will wake up and take its place. It is long after that, some 300 years from now, that we can return to an Empire in the Middle East.

With Islam as the highest growing religion in the world, it will be hard for some people to understand this. But one thing we can be sure of is that 2000 years from now, people will be worshiping other Gods, instead of Allah and Jesus.

You know why it is true? Some 2000 years ago, more people were worshiping Sango Chac and Zeus than those worshiping Buddah today. People who lived in that era could not have believed there would ever come a time when Sango, Chac and Zeus would be left to take care of themselves.

Gods come and Gods go. The graveyard of heaven is littered with fallen gods.

All religions are myths created to guide man in his search for meaning to life. The present obsession with today’s Gods will wean. Designer Gods will soon be rolled in and gradually they will wipe away any footprint of the Gods many today think are for all times.

So all you angry youths, stop wasting your lives. Get on with the program. This thing called life is bigger than your fathers little Gods.
