The War on Drugs: Those who live in Glass Houses Shouldn't throw Stones

POLITICS. .

Enough with the U.S.-Mexico drug war blame game. Let's make a new rule: Only those who don't live in glass houses stuffed with cocaine, meth, marijuana, corrupt politicians, cops and judges who are stuffing cash into their pockets from a ridiculous war on drugs while some get high and others get kidnapped, slaughtered, tortured, and mutilated can throw stones.

Non-stop media reports have been focusing on Mexico's Drug War. Pick a media, any media, and you will find stellar headlines from American blogs, newspapers, and magazines such as The failing, Narco-Terrorist State Next Door, Mexican Drug Violence Spills over into the U.S., Mexico's Drug war threatens United States, and Mexico's corrupt system responsible for Drug problems in U.S.

It's not easy being under a magnifying glass and endure constant insults from your neighbor, especially when it concerns a problem that has not only ravaged your entire family, but was created with the help of that same neighbor.

President Felipe Calderon must have bitten his tongue and turned the other cheek for as long as he could in taking sole responsibility for America's drug woes; a man can only take so much.

Calderon recently blasted American reports of Mexico failing it's fight against drug cartels by saying corruption in the United States is also to blame.

Drug trafficking, violence, corruption, and insatiable demand for illegal drugs North of the border are not being recognized. The United States should take a hard look at itself before pointing the finger at anyone else.

The main cause of the problems associated with organized crime in Mexico is having the world's biggest consumer next to us. Drug trafficking in the United States is fueled by the phenomenon of corruption on the part of the American authorities.-President Felipe Calderon

Nobody in Mexico, including Calderon, is going to deny we have some serious issues here, we have had many corrupt police, judicial and government officials who were found to be aiding the cartels, we don't deny corruption, but we have at least taken the first and most important step in changing; admitting to them and taking responsibility.

Calderon is urging President Obama to not only focus on drug trafficking, violence, and corruption in Mexico, but to also step up and take notice to what is happening in his own country; how many corrupt officials have been implicated in the U.S. for aiding drug cartels and organized crime?

I want to know how many American officials have been prosecuted for this.It is not an exclusively Mexican problem, it is a common problem between Mexico and the United States.
