The Talibanization Of Northwest Pakistan: Music Banned On Buses
The Taliban seems to be increasing its stranglehold over parts of northwestern Pakistan, and people in those areas are succumbing to their demands without a fight, fearing for their lives, knowing the police can't or won't do a damn thing. Now the Taliban's extremist Islamic ideology is spreading east, the latest occurrence was a Taliban letter sent to bus drivers in Mardan banning all music and videos on buses. The drivers met with union leaders and decided it was easier to comply; that's because the letter threatened that any bus that didn't remove the equipment would be a target for suicide bombings. So, now there is no music, because the twisted mentality of the Taliban has deemed music to be vulgar and obscene and a "source of mental agony for pious people."

Vulgar and obscene? According to Islamawareness.net nowhere in the Koran does it state that music is prohibited, or vulgar and obscene. Then again, everything is vulgar and obscene to the Taliban, including educating girls. So they bomb schools and threaten to bomb buses. Any sane and rational person would be horrified at what is going on in those parts, but religious fanaticism warps minds, like those of certain Muslim extremists who are happy that the Taliban are spreading their form of Shari'ah in Pakistan. The admin for the following website shares this in his post about the banned music:
"Masha’Allah, the Pakistani Taliban are implementing Shari’ah bit-by-bit throughout Pakistan. Aside from the childish propaganda about the banning of children education which has already been refuted, it is a great to see the Muslims making Pakistan what it was meant to be in the first place. We ask Allah to destroy all the enemies of the Mujahideen."
If Pakistan isn't careful, that's exactly what's going to happen.
