The real hero - William H. McRaven

POLITICS. .

Which one is mightier? Pen or Sword?

Both are sharp if it falls in the right hand. Somebody’s pen is penetrating, others' swords are sizzling.

But there are some people they handle both the stuff with immense accuracy. It seems to be a fairy tale though true in real perspective.

This is a non-fiction, a story of a gentleman who took his profession in journalism, wanted to write, had a dream to become media professional, and obtained his degree in journalism from a premier school made the above lines possible.

He astutely handled both pen and sword.

The top story goes like this.

William H. McRaven , University of Texas, Journalism Major, commanded mission that killed Osama Bin Laden.

The most admirable personality and dependent one for Obama government and American people. Whenever the country is in deep trouble, McrRaven, the savior was called. The man (read McRaven) behind Saddam’s downfall and Osama’s killing.

The man whose team took down Osama bin Laden is a 1977 graduate of the University of Texas-Austin in journalism. Really interesting and fascinating.

William H. McRaven, a San Antonio native, led the Special Forces operation that eventually killed Osama bin Laden.

"I was fascinated that somebody with a journalism degree had gone to Special Forces and been a SEAL," Bobby Inman, a professor at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, told the Daily Texan. "He has demonstrated that he is truly a distinguished graduate of the university."

McRaven is a Vice Admiral in the Navy, a Navy SEAL and was a participant in the Naval ROTC program while at college. In the course of his career, he won the Bronze Star and Defense Superior Service Medal.

Braves and geniuses are born not made, truly applicable for McRaven. He literally wrote the book on Special Ops, a 1995 history of surgical strike teams from the Nazi rescue of Mussolini in 1943 to the 1976 Israeli raid on Entebbe. His thesis at naval postgraduate school is now compulsory reading for Special Ops commanders.

"Bill is reputed to be the smartest SEAL that ever lived," says a former commander who knows McRaven well. "He is physically tough, compassionate and can drive a knife through your ribs in a nanosecond."

Indeed he has got the mastery over pen and will be remembered as legendary figure in the history of counter terrorism.

Not Obama, not NATO nor even CIA, the real hero is William H. McRaven.
