The New 2009 Ferrari California
Meet the new 2009 Ferrari California:
The Corsa-red convertible starts at less than $200,000 (cheap by Ferrari standards), includes a 453-horsepower V-8 engine that enables 0-60 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds. A 7 speed dual-clutch transmission, naturally, and ceramic brakes are part of the deal.

The Ferrari though have been getting less than stellar reviews. Critics point to the wide rear, a sound-system that is high quality but resembles mundane one in normal cars, furthermore the four chrome tailpipes are described as "useless" because the exhaust exists from elsewhere.
The criticisms notwithstanding, the Ferrari is still incredibly beautiful and the first for-sale Ferrari where the V-8 engine is in the front.
In the end, the biggest criticism of Ferrari may be that it is too expensive for this economic climate. Ironically, the St. Regis Monarch Beach resort pictured above where the Ferrari photo-shot took place was recently seized by Citigroup creditors as business slumped to record lows (summer occupancy was 15%).
But then anyone rich enough to afford a Ferrari in the first place, has probably not be bothered enough by the recession to forestall buying one now.
Unless, of course, they invested with Bernie Madoff. Personally, the California has never been my favorite Ferrari which is Scaglietti:
