Sure, everyone knows the gown Helen Mirren wore to the Oscars was a gorgeous custom-made Christian Lacroix. The 61 year old winner of this year's Best Actress Oscar for 'The Queen' looked elegant in a floor-length gown and pearls.
However, not many people know that underneath the pouf, 'The Queen' wore no underwear. 'The Queen' went c-o-m-m-a-n-d-o! Now that's something you don't hear everyday.
Now let's talk about the joys of going commando. I, for one, am a huge fan! I love wearing no panties with long gypsy skirts, and feeling like a true-blue bohemian. Ohh, the joys, the naughty anticipation, the secret fear of accidentally exposing your good stuff. Telling your beau that you are not wearing underwear is even more fun. Watch their eyeballs pop off, and their mouths salivating lasciviously.
But of course, with every good thing, there are some rules. Not wearing panties under a short skirt...and you risk exposing more than just your dignity. Remember Britney's big money shot? If you still can't resist feeling the wind up your legs in a mini, at least make sure your bikini line is waxed and spotless. And always make sure you sit with your legs crossed.
Women not wearing panties started among the fashionistas out of necessity. One can't possibly wear figure-hugging clothes or clothes that drape to your body with the dreaded visible panty line (VPL) showing. The solution? Nix the panties altogether. This sure gives a clean neat silhouette.
Going braless? Now thats a whole other debate. i wouldn't. You shouldn't either, unless you are Kate Moss.
