Zionism folklore and the American media till this day celebrate an Israeli airlift of Jews from Ethiopia (Falasha Jews) as a great heroic moment for Zionism; you know? the act of settling colonialists on the land of another people and then marketing it as a great humanitarian act at the expense of the native and rightful owners of the land.
The American media likes to celebrate an Israeli propaganda show, but does not like to inform Americans of the injustices of Israeli society. There is racism against Arabs in Zionism, but also racism against non-white Jews. Oriental Jews are routinely discriminated against and even though they represent roughly half of the population of Israeli Jews are grossly underrepresented amongst the Israeli political class (Israel has never had an Oriental Jewish prime minister, for instance).
But this pales to the routine vilification that black Jews face. Literally, the Israeli press is filled with stories of Falasha Jews being denied housing or their children admission into schools simply because of Israeli racism.
They are routinely attacked as "Niggers" by many in the Israeli public, where even on-camera admissions of racism are cavalier (see the little Zionist prick at 1:22):
Take this week's news:
"The discrimination and deprivation felt by the Ethiopian community has reached ritual baths: A Bnei Brak resident barred a 13 year old Ethiopian teen from going into the mikveh recenty, claiming the boy was a "stinking kushi" (a derogatory Hebrew term for black people). He then hit the boy, his brother and his aunt."
The only reason the Falasha were ever airlifted was because of Israeli demographic concerns vis-a-vis the Arabs. They simply wanted more Jewish heads to outnumber Arabs and do not actually care for the well-being of Falasha beyond their statistical usefulness. If Israel had more Western Jews it would not have bothered with Falasha. Israel's first prime minister David Ben-Gurion famously wrote that Zionism is a product of and purpose for European Jewry, all other Jews are their just for demographic purposes and to maintain the occupying power elite of the white minority. Does that sound familiar?
