Another so called honor killing just to satisfy the bruised male ego. Two girls from Greater Noida ran away from home with their friends, both were teenagers, school going aged 14 and 16. They lived in this urban village with their extended families including a cousin brother, Sonu.
This episode of eloping and the consequences resulting in ruining the family name hurt Sonu so much that when the girls were brought back, he made up his mind to eliminate them. So on the pretext of counseling he spoke to them and killed them point blank with a bore .315 country made pistol. He wanted to kill the boys with whom the girls had eloped but was caught before that.
Ironically, it was the same Sonu who was a very loving brother and it was he who insisted that these girls will go to school to be educated.
In another absolutely shocking incident a 15 year old girl was raped by 12, yes twelve depraved creatures on the Diwali night in Bairampur village.
As per RPS Marar, the DSP Kharar, the girl was cleaning the utensils in the courtyard at about 8.30 pm. Her parents were not at home but one aunt and her elder sisters were there. Two village youth, known to the family and regular visitors scaled the wall and caught hold of her. They pushed the relatives in one room and locked it from outside. They then gagged the poor girl and raped her one by one. Meanwhile they were joined by 10 other youth with muffled faces. They all then assaulted her for two hour till she fainted.
The reason for late filing of the complain is bizarre. The village elders were trying to make her reach a compromise with the accused.
Meanwhile the accused have been booked under IPC 148,149,376G and 452. There has been no arrests so far only a couple of youth have been rounded up for inquiry.
When it comes to the honor of the whole family predominantly the male honor, the culprit is killed without any remorse, the murderer goes to jail with head held high, after all he has done something to be proud of.
What about when a girl is raped. Her honor is also tarnished beyond repair. Why then the rapists are let free and everyone tries to take such a way out so as to safe gaurd them?
