The dance of death. Elections without bloodshed are unthinkable, more so in Bengal. The gladiators did not disappoint us.
First intimidation of voters. When that did not work due to police &tmc local leadership the revenge was swift in coming.
The wife of a local TMC leader was singled out & while fleeing from them lost her 2 year old baby in firing aimed to get her. If the tally of left goes down considerably we should be prepared for more blood shed on 13th.
The adage that absolute power corrupts absolutely is very true.For decades left has ruled Bengal with an iron hand with zero tolerance for dissidence taking a leaf from china.
The frustration & anger of victims manifested in the form of Mamta Banerjree matching left in every tactic & teaching them a thing or two in the process. The only factor keeping her away from writers is the bankruptcy of ideas, lack of a wise counsel again due to zero tolerance of defense & lack of second in command the hall mark of any personality centered organization the one(wo) men army.
Besides her habit of scoring frequent self goals & inability to read public mood are the other factors. The only USP is the anti left feeling of people particularly in center after getting disgusted with the duplicity & the dog in the manger attitude of comrades.
TINA is her only friend. I can recall the scene in Ballygunj an up market locality in south Kolkata. When the occupents of 2 prominent high rise building were prevented from casting there votes by left goons some 10 years back or was it more when this can happen to educated , elites in the heart of the city. What can be expected from remote villages?
So I am resigned to lots of blood shed ,though holi is far away followed by a spate of bandhs. It requires no rocket science to know where from criminals , naxalites & maoist get new recruits. when power flows from the barrel of the guns there are vulnerable & easy recruits.
The robin hood image & perks of power are other factors. It is another matter that they are royally used & abused by their handlers but even other wise they are leading an inhuman life
So will I go for work on the 13th. You bet I will.It will be my protest against the violent politics
