Southern African leaders are beginning an emergency summit on the crisis in Zimbabwe.
Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa says Saturday’s summit is aimed at helping Zimbabwe find a solution “that generally reflects the will of the Zimbabwean people.”
The results of Zimbabwe’s presidential election have not yet been released two weeks after the vote.
Independent tallies suggest President Robert Mugabe lost but garnered enough votes to force a runoff. Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai says he won outright.
