Stock futures remain higher following a government report that new filings for unemployment benefits fell more than expected last week.
The Labor Department reports that new applications filed for unemployment insurance fell by a seasonally adjusted 58,000 to 346,000 last week. But continuing claims are up, illustrating the weakness that remains in the labor market.
Wall Street had expected that claims would fall to 399,000 for the week that ended July 5.
Dow Jones industrial average futures are up 56 at the 11,205 level.
