Start Of A Good Year
To the end of 2010 after a fare share of contemplation about where to go ..hmm lets see, I thought of Hampi, Goa, Thailand, Bali! for a holiday to begin the new year, when each time a final plan was set up something came around and made it crumble. Tired and confused I finally settled on nothing. Dehradoon, however was not on the agenda even though it is my hometown and the abode of my parents. So when a friend was driving down from Delhi I was surprisingly ready to hop on. I figured if I can’t decide where I want to be and who with at least it would be nice to get out of Delhi, the fog too was clogging my mind. So the best option would be to spend it with family and I must say I’m glad I did. Parents and siblings, They love us just as we are, always just as much and just as well they remain the love of our lives.

So the new year eve began with visiting an aunts house, sitting by the cozy fireplace (while the weather froze outside) eating scrumptious snacks followed by my sister taking us to a seventeen year olds party, where by the time we got there, most of the teenagers were done and passing out. We left as swiftly as we arrived. That was then further highlighted by a brief visit to the Doon club.It seemed like the entire town had arrived to mix in each other’s revelry at the beginning of a new year. Some in groups of stag men, the others entire jing-bangs of family starting form the eldest member to the youngest accompanied by those yet to come. So much so for the night, we passed out and were in luck as we had an invitation extended by a friend to brunch. Which we took up eagerly and landed an afternoon of sitting by the sun, devouring roast chicken with potatoes, mutton was galawati kababs from tunde's in Lucknow at the mention of which kabab lovers tend to reminisce, crispy bacon candy which was done in the oven, and a juicy salad with some home made bread along with killer dip, it was indeed a lovely start.
So far so good I thought and I decided to linger on in my town while the surrounding made me feel like itself. Laidback and relaxed!
The trip included a visit to Orchard, a little Tibetan café on a hill further up in town with a beautiful view of surrounding hills, overlooking a stream that sounds beautiful during season, pretty good momos and! awesome coffee…Also how can I forget! food from President. the oldest most appetizing menu to which I have been devoted from when I can last remember..:D
Yes it seems that the main attraction of my visit was the food. How can I complain!? Though now and then in the midst of all this I did get do some photography, thankfully the sunlight was brilliant and seems like I got some nice pictures in the outdoors :P.
