Somalia's Al Shabaab Execute 2 Teenage Girls For Alleged Spying
When I think of evil incarnate I think of groups like Al Shabaab, the Somali Islamist purveyors of violence and ridiculous fatwas. They are merciless, Soulless animals who have no compunction whatsoever of killing anyone including young children. Remember several years ago when they stoned to death an innocent 13-year-old rape victim. Not only was she violated in one of the worst possible manner- sexually - she was killed in one of the most barbaric ways possible. As if being raped was her fault. And no doubt the rapist is out there raping other young girls, which I suppose is perfectly okay in their twisted form of Islam.

Now, Al Shabaab just killed, by firing squad, two young teenage girls- 15-year-old Huriyo Ibrahim and 18-year-old Ayan Mohamed Jama- in Beletweyne, Somalia. Tried and convicted through the Sharia kangaroo courts, for allegedly spying for Al Shabaab's enemies (government soldiers)the frightened girls were gunned down by 10 masked militants. The cowards. And Al Shabaab made sport of the execution by forcing local residents to watch, most of whom were disgusted and dismayed.
"Everyone was very sorry for the young girls who were killed in front of hundreds," said Maryam Ahmed, a resident of the town.Ali, another resident, said: "The group informed the population that a punishment was going to be carried out in public on two women they claimed had been found guilty of spying, I didn't know they were planning to shoot them.
"The two girls were sitting on the ground with their hands tied behind their back. Then a group of fighters covered their faces and shot them from behind," he said. "It was shocking, the girls were so young. They looked so desperate but nobody could help them." Militia members had toured the Beletweyne's streets, informing residents about the pending executions by loudspeaker and ordering everyone to attend.
In spite of the current 'transitional' government, which is backed by the West, militant Islam is gaining a hold on Somalia.
Al Shabaab is well armed, and an armed man can wield much power. But who is supplying groups like Al Shabaab with all these weapons? Without weapons they would be nothing. Perhaps, to stem the growth of groups like this, we should start arming the people and let them fight back. That might be the only way to curtail the strong-arm influence of Al Shabaab and their ilk.
