Solutions for a Better India...Indians Hit back!

When we think in terms of our country and our potential, we see a huge under performance at each and every level. When we look up to our leaders and authorities…there seems to be a huge vacuum and nothing to draw inspiration from.

And we also see all the rot happening with extremism gaining ground whether in the form of terror, religion, caste, creed and hate policies. Cultural and moral policemen only add to the problems.

There are basically two things that strikes the mind…the level of leadership, parliamentary debates and statesmanship has gone horribly empty. The National parties seem more and more doomed every passing day and region and religion based parties seem to be gaining ground. The Left too has lost sheen and rather than new look stuff seems to be getting even more rigid and unbending.

This is not what our founding fathers and mothers had in mind when the nation came into being and the constitution was written

One major reason for this downward slide can be traced to the aftermath of the emergency when dignity in Indian politics was systematically done away with and winning elections and hanging on to power became the only objectives.

This increased the money power, power brokers, and criminality in Indian Politics leading to what it is today.

Today the criminals, money bags and the power brokers along with a lot of undesirable elements have become the Face and Leaders of the Nation.

And this has created a system and society where cutting corners and making money in any way is ok. Plus you have everyone networked with each other (whether opposition or ruling) right from the land mafia and sharks, construction firms, politicians, movers and shakers, industrialists, criminals, party goons, organized syndicates (criminal and non criminal), Police and the security apparatus, courts and the law makers…to become one huge hydra headed monster.

On the reverse this has thrown out of society the suffering millions who depend only on the state for subsistence and created the huge Naxal problem that has a popular support base.

The state has even sponsored terrorism by arming anti naxal teams creating a huge law and order problem in addition to the displacement of thousands from their land. This is being done to enable all the MNC’s and local industrialists to gain the mines and other benefits without giving any share to those who are the rightful owners.

Similarly the land grab for SEZ’s, Corporate farms, scam in tenders and infrastructure implementation an unending list that works very well and is coordinated expertly.

The one thing that is difficult is to steal is the ELECTIONS.

How do we tame this Hydra Headed monster?

As the rot begins at the top, it is ideal that we start at the top. If we can have educated, honest and genuine people with a proven track experience representing us it will be very good though not possible. Yet if we can have all the representatives without criminal backgrounds this would be a very good start.

As of today our judicial system is such that for any case to be concluded, it takes scores of years preempting any attempt of cleansing the system Plus when the accused is a part of this monster and powerful it becomes all the more tough.

Why can’t we lobby all the parties as well as the Supreme Court to amend our constitution so that….

1. A fast track court is set up with powers to transfer all the cases from any court in India and try it very fast in case of the accused being an elected or selected member of any government institution including the Parliament.

2. A special investigation body with all authorities and permissions to investigate and frame charges in all these cases that will work in tandem with all other local bodies and will be less susceptible to interference in any form

3. If and this is a big thing…the said court finds that it has enough compelling evidence that can lead to a conviction pending trail, the said accused should demit office or stay suspended till completion of all the proceedings. This does not amount to conviction and the said process in already in place in various institutions where charges are probed against someone (check any of the various departmental enquires and Appellate tribunals).

This will take away the fear of immunity and create enough fear in individuals to stay clean. This will also produce enough of Parliamentarians who can then lead the country in a dignified way.

If we start now, we may have a clean state and system in the coming couple of decades…if we do not…then we will have a partitioned country run by a limited few with enforcement through state apparatuses and a huge population with no means to live….is this what we want?
