Sodomy in Kenyan high schools
Sometimes back i posted something on a Richard Mwanzia Muasya a convict at Kamiti maximum prison who has both male and female sex organs but goes on with life as a man, he has repeatedly claimed of being mistreated by fellow inmates and suffering inhuman and degrading treatment by exposure to male and female prison warders and the public.

Muasya has tried to convince the government to change the law which only recognizes two sexes- male and females. He believes this is unfair and discriminatory which to a large extent is true.
His lobbying for a new law that would also recognize such people has taken a different dimension all together. The Attorney General has now asked Muasya to take his fight to parlaiment which is a whole mountain to climb.I have come to think of the torture and demeaning treatment he is going through given the history of Kamiti Maximum Prison, sodomy is nothing new in the prison and an inmate can defile another inmate anytime without fear or intimidation and nothing happens. Even though in some cases some inmates consent the acts in exchange of favours from the 'veterans'. I am still doing a research on sodomy having gathered complains from several quarters on how school boys have been demoralized after being sodomized in their first days in high schools and its really a freaking story which depicts a rotten and an unjust society. Sodomy is happening in many boys' schools in the country but what is shocking is that some of these incidences are well known by the school heads who opt to cover up the cases to save the instituion's reputation. In some schools it's so gross the boys are sodomized bed by bed and the poor boys have no option than suffer silently and wait for their time when 'freshers' - form ones join next and mete the same vicious crime to them making the crime a cycle. Anyway I am still piecing the information together. Muasya decided to break the silence thinking that the government would help but it seems nothing is forthcoming. His case is one of its kind and needs the right attention.
