Sit-in in Morocco Against Death Penalty

A sit-in was held last Tuesday in Rabat for the abolition of death penalty. The rally, under the banner "the abolition of the death penalty to preserve the right to life," took place as an absolute refusal of the death penalty.

The World Coalition against the death penalty decided in 2003 to make of this day an occasion to make a person understands that death penalty is an attack on a sacred right for people that is “the right of living”.
The coordinator of the Moroccan Collective against death penalty, Abdelilah benabdeslam, said the abolition of the death penalty in Morocco will help in strengthening the process of promoting human rights in Morocco and the North African countries as well.
