Serbia To Seek Partner For JAT Airways
March 23, 2010
Serbia plans to launch a tender competition next month to find a partner for its loss-making airline JAT Airways, the deputy prime minister in charge of the economy said Tuesday.

"We plan to look for a strategic partner for JAT Airways through an international tender," Mladjan Dinkic told a news conference. "The aim is to renew the JAT fleet with 10 new aircraft, the purchase of which will be financed by the strategic partner."
Earlier this month, JAT announced a EUR€16.5 million euro loss for 2009 and said it planned to borrow EUR€51.5 million to restructure and renew its aging fleet and prepare for a potential partnership with Turkish flag carrier Turkish Airlines, which has not yet made any decisions regarding JAT.
