Florida pastor Terry Jones has vowed to burn hundreds of Qurans on 9/11 on its tragic World Trade Centre Shattering anniversary. US president Barrack Obama has warned that the Pastor’s proposed plan of burning Qurans will have far reaching consequences. “As a practical matter , as Commander in Chief of the armed forces of the United States , I just want him to understand that the stunt could greatly endanger our young men and women who are in Afghanistan and who are in Iraq”, Obama said.
Leaders of World’s Islamic Nations have urged US president to douse ‘flame of intolerance’. ‘Indonesian president and Malaysian president have advised United States to ensure the incident doesn’t happen. They have also expressed fear of large scale retaliation from the Islamic World. Canada and France who have large Muslim population have warned that torching of Quran would endanger world peace. An Afghan Cleric has threatened that US troops in the Country’s North would face large protests if their holy book is burned. Around 200 people in Pakistan’s city of Multan have burned US flag in protest against the incident which is yet to happen.

It is understood that Islam is practiced in large parts of the world and Muslim population is growing rapidly. The Europeans are also alarmed about the unchecked growth of Muslim population. A Vatican official has warned the Christians in Europe to have more children or else the Continent would become islamised. He lamented that ‘sooner rather than later Muslims will conquer the majority in Europe’. A similar voice has been raised in Italy by Father Piero Gheddo who said the poor birth rate among Europeans coupled with waves of Muslim immigrants could lead to Europe getting dominated by Islam. In India also Baba Ramdev expressed similar apprehensions; he had advised Hindus to have more than two offspring to remain in majority against growing Muslim population
It is a big irony that the Western World which fears Islamic proliferation in their territory has a dual policy in dealing with Islamic radicals, especially the United States Which knowing well that a particular Nation encourages and provides shelter to Taliban, al- Qaida , LeT and other Islamic extremist groups keep feeding them with the latest war equipments. They should not forget, God forbid, if there will be a repeat of 9/11 in the US it will be from this soil. I am not a fundamentalist and I respect all religions but a religion or a nation spreading hatred and terrorism endangering world peace has no place in my heart.
