Science tour organised for Kalaigaon & Khorabari students of (Assam)
A science tour for the meritorious students of Kalaigaon and Khoirabari areas had been organised by Pabitra Kumar Das,Circle Officer of Kalaigaon and Khoirabari Revenue Circle on February 16. A total of 31 nos of students ,including 9 girl students from 16 nos of schools had taken part in the science exposure tour to Tezpur Central University campus where students were given the chance to meet and interact with the eminent scientists of the University.The tour was formally inaugurated at Kalaigaon Circle Office premises by Jagadish Sarkar,president ,TCLCC,Kalaigaon.at 6,30 am. Kamal Prasad Sarmah,Mouzadar,Kalaigaon welcomed the students and teachers and thanked the organiser for his mission. In his speech Circle Officer Das requested the students to take interest in science and technology and also to think for the for the welfare of the society.

On their way to Tezpur,SS Meenakshi Sundaram,DC and Indra Kalita SDO (S),Udalguri welcomed the students and guides at Udalguri Circuit House at 8 am.The DC also gave a few vital tips to the students.The students and the guides visited a few departments of Tezpur Central University including physics,chemical science,engineering etc.They also had the oppurtunity to ineract with a few eminent scientists like Dr.Kishore Barua (physics),who explained very difficult astro-physics related matters like -constallations of stars, planets and the universe etc ,in simple and easy way.The students had also met Biren Das,Asstt. Registrar of the university in the afternoon and thanked him for the help and cooperation.
Gajen Barua,headmaster of Khagara HS (Khoirabari)Salehuddin Ahmed,AT of Balipara KM HS and Parinita Kalita AT of Lokapriya Bardoloi Public School,(Kalaigaon) accompanied the students as guide teachers while Sabita Daimari GNM of Kalaigaon State Dispensary attended the students as medical guide.Bikask Kumar Sarma of Thargaon HS (Khoirabari )and Nilotpala Saharia of Kalaigaon HSS won the best student awards of the science exposure tour.People of Kalaigaon and Khoirabari have appreciated the good indivisual move of the Circle Officer.
