Schwarzenegger F-U Hidden Message

POLITICS. .

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger - I think he was an actor once - is known for his blunt speaking. He previously referred to opposition Democratic state politicians as "girly [sic] men" and once threatened to kick the rear of the nurses union. And in private he remarked that a certain state politician was very intense due to her hot-blooded Latina nature. The Governator does not shy away from publicly displaying his sentiment (even though the job has become less thankless in recent years).

Arnold entered the state house with a lot of enthusiasm and plenty of support. But his agenda fell apart and Democrats blocked reform. California almost declared bankruptcy this past summer and had to cut spending across the board to avoid a fiscal nightmare (California has the lowest bond rating of any American state).

Arnold is tired and fed up and a recent veto statement makes clear his attitude toward the whole political system. But Arnold cannot publicly state his frustration so in a move out of a Hollywood movie, the Governator inserted a subtle yet easily detectable message expressing his contempt for the state politician who crafted the bill Arnold vetoed. See if you can spot it (I had to removed some words so it would read properly, edits to not alter the hidden message of course):

To the Members of the California State Assembly:

I am returning Assembly Bill 1176 without my signature.

For some time now I have lamented the fact that major issues are . . .

unnecessary bills come to me for consideration. Water reform, prison . . .

care are major issues my Administration has brought to the table, but the .

kicks the can down the alley.

Yet another legislative year has come and gone without the major reforms

overwhelmingly deserve. In light of this, and after careful consideration,

unnecessary to sign this measure at this time.

Sincerely,

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Got it? How about now?:

Before you judge Arnold too harshly, know this:

There is history here, of course. The bill in question — which would have assisted financing for projects along the San Francisco waterfront — was sponsored by Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, a Democrat from the city who recently heckled the governor at a Democratic gala here after Mr. Schwarzenegger, a Republican, unexpectedly decided to speak at the event.

Mr. Ammiano, who is gay and was upset over cuts to state-funded AIDS programs, shouted at the governor, calling him a liar. Mr. Ammiano also apparently shouted another — more vulgar — insult that referred to his own sexual orientation.

So the state politician called Arnold a liar and a fagget, apparently. He had it coming, Arnold was entirely properly in telling him where he could get off and doing it creatively no less.

And Mr. Ammiano's spokesman stated that the state politician does not mind the hidden message but the vote.

“Kudo to the governor for his creative use of coincidence with his veto message,” the spokesman, Quintin Mecke said in an e-mail message. He added, “We will call it even and start with a clean slate with the governor from here on out.”

That Arnold. He was always cut out for entertainment more than politics.
