Scams, corruption and the political society
Today, morning, after, evening and night you are greeted by scams, corruption, rape and murder. It is indeed a sign of the times that we live in. People the world over are in the constant pursuit of wealth and mostly the wrong way. The straightforward are few and far between, and they are harassed, heckled and often tortured and murdered. In this society, you pay a heavy price for remaining honest. On the contrary, the corrupt and the venal are flourishing.

There is a powerful and unholy nexus that has been systematically built between politicians, bureaucrats, big business, police and lawyers. And these put together form a formidable group that works ceaselessly to con the general public, present as consumers and customers of some product or service, and loot the national exchequer.
What ails our society and what is the root cause of corruption on such an unprecedented scale? Of course everyone knows that it is the love of money and the unsatiated greed for more money, land and other material goods that has twisted the human brain beyond repair.
The real reason is a complete break-down of values - moral and ethical - in human beings in general and this group in particular. We no longer teach our children values of honesty and integrity, truth and courage, humility and dignity, and respect for the elderly, and the poor and the dispossessed.
And this has to be inculcated early in life - in childhood - if we have to fight this corrupt system and raise a generation of good human beings.
We are so keen to "educate" our children with fancy degrees, without ever telling them how to use their knowledge for the good of humankind. Parents instruct their children to amass wealth and live a life that is far removed from reality. Neither parents nor teachers are role models anymore. Our models are film stars and celebrities who are empty and worthless but with a huge cache of wealth. There are few among them who think of sharing their wealth with the underprivileged.
The only solution to stem the rot that has pervaded our political and social system is to get together and start a people's revolution to oust the corrupt and cleanse the entire system. Who knows - a "French Revolution" may just be brewing!
