A prosecutor says the 18-year-old accused of planning to bomb his South Carolina high school has told law enforcement that he placed several pipe bombs around his family’s home.
However, state prosecutor Jay Hodge says a search has found no bombs.
Hodge said Wednesday that he thinks Ryan Schallenberger may have just been bragging when he claimed he planted the bombs.
Federal prosecutors have charged Schallenberger with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction, which carries a possible life sentence.
