Sanatana Dharma and Babri Mosque

Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru, the architect of India called the day of Independence as “Tryst of Destiny” at the midnight when our India was freed from the British i.e. 15 August 1947. But, a group of goon politicians (not noble and god fearing Hindus) in the garb of “karseva” demolished a structure which stood since few centuries as Indian monument without doing harmful acts to any living being.

Can we call this kinds of acts "Tryst of slaughter of Democracy?"

On 6 December 1992 (Black Sunday) around 5pm a dozen of my Hindu friends gathered at my home and consoled me as if a death had taken in my house. I said that,” It is all politics, tactics to grab the chair, not the deed of any noble Hindu”. Karsevaks and Sevikas must do the real worth “Kar seva” but they didn’t conduct their seva to their God and Goddesses but did an evil deed only on political ill will. One could term it as “tryst of slaughter of democracy” an orchestrated appalling vile as despicable mass murder of egalitarianism.

In such act of vandalism, all fair minded genre including Hindu brothers demand that the Indian government should bring the criminals indicted in Jusctice Labrahan’s Commission to justice who involved in the demolition of the 16th century Babri Mosque in the city of Ayodhya in the State of Uttar Pradesh.

Did not the State Administration offcials and Hindutva Leaders assure that the Babri Mosque would be safe and the Karsevaks would conduct only the symblolic worship?

But this 16th century Muslim place of worship was destroyed by a frenzied mob of kar-sevaks, whirlling out all such assurances and they transgressed the Supreme Court ruling that the Mosque should be preserved.

It took 17 years, costing around Rs.8 crores, required 48 extensions to document the two obvious facts, first that the demolition of the Babri Masjid was a deliberate criminal act by Hindutva leaders and second that BJP is simply a means for RSS to impose fascist regime in India"

”Liberhan Commission indicted 68 individuals including Atal Bihari Vajpayee, as the leading schemers and contributors directly or indirectly involved in the destruction of the Babri Mosque. Most of the perpetrators listed in the Commission report are associated with Hindutva-fascist groups such as the RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal, all of whom are closely allied with the political Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP, in alliance with several other parties, was in power from 1998 to 2004.”

After 17 years the Muslims of India who still feel aggrieved at the criminal destruction of the mosque demand that Indian Government immediately initiate criminal and civil action against all accused in the Liberhan Report and that all politicians, individuals, and organizations involved in the crime are prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

I have been reiterating from this forum that the feeling that freedom of India was wrought and won not only by the Hindus pre-empts the very fact that thousands of Muslims young and old also have sacrificed their lives in full sincerity and patriotism.

Let us understand what Santana Dharma is:

• Don’t enforce one belief, one way of worship or one code of conduct for all. Do not attempt to destroy different forms of worship, claiming your own way to be the only right one. Such enforcement of uniformity would be un-natural and contrary to the Divine Law. It hinders the progress of a human being in his/her journey to the state of divinity.

• Give importance to sincerity of heart and nobleness of conduct in the field of religion. Do not claim to have obtained from God, exclusive and irrevocable power of attorney to be a dictator and to persecute others on behalf of God, because they do not agree with you. Where does Sanatana Dharma claim divisive force? Do the perpetrators understand the meaning of these verses?

Are the following acts are according to the Santana Dharma?

The attempt to divide Hindus and Muslims is only with vile politicians and not the noble Hindus and Muslims. The all noble thinking Hindus and Muslims are willing to live still harmoniously.

If some Hindus follow the terrorist act, they do not know what Sanatana Dharma is, in the same as some bad Muslims follow the terrorist act, they do not know what Islam is.
