Riot is a great shame on the nation when we are forced to face the brunt of it in our own country at the hand of our very own people. Communal riot is continuing for over a month now in Orissa. Riot in the name of religion and caste is too inhuman. Riot creates hatred, alienation, and insecurity in the society. It is the thing that our country cannot afford.
Riot is the thing that brings all the efforts of those who fight for communal harmony to a dud. There are few people who fight for good cause and struggle for peace but when such incidents happen all faith is lost and their effort is destroyed.
I cannot imagine how people feel happy by killing people, burning houses, raping females, destroying property and making people flee from their houses. How does it give them peace of mind, satisfaction and happiness? Terrorists are also of the same mind set-up. They feel happy in killing people. May God be a great judge on such people!
Will riots and terrorism wipe India's core identity of diversity? I fear. Can we go on weeping, lamenting and doubting without justice? Will we be subjected to injustice for ever?
I'm more surprised when people begin justifying such incessant killing. It's of great concern when a good number of intellectuals justify killing, riots and terrorism. They do not only justify the injustice but help the responsible persons from being convicted.
Can there be not a law to punish the people who are held responsible for riots on the line of terrorism? Or should we keep quiet and cry to deaf ears.
