Reservation in central educational institutes is murder of merit
The Supreme Court of India has given judgment regarding 27% reservation quota
for OBCs in central educational institutes like IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, IISc, TIFR, ISRO
and BHEL etc., excluding creamy layers. According to Apex Court this reservation
benefits would be over a period of three years from the academic year 2008-09.
This reservation will be valid for post graduate courses.
On 20th January, 2006 the Constitution of India ( 93rd amendment Act, 2005 ) comes
into effect. It empowers the state to make special provisions for socially and
educationally institutes.
Central educational institutes all private educational institutes should be above caste,
religion, language and state. It is basically a dirty political game for vote game.
Late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi against the reservation of OBCs.
Is it possible to make India a Knowledge Superpower in the 21st century ? It’s
answer would be No. It is just like murder of merit. This will undermine quality of
the prestigious technical educational institutes like IITs , AIIMS, IIMs etc. It will
increase the graphs of caste wars / disputes , pro & anti reservation protests , brain drain, corruption & suicidal cases of brilliant Indian students in the country. It will also
decrease quality of technical professionals. It is one of the main hurdles in the way
of sustainable development of the country. Do our government wants to repeat the
violent hurricane of ant reservation agitations of September 1990 ? Is it not the violation
of youth and students rights ?
Do our government wants to repeat the violent hurricane of ant reservation agitations
of September 1990 ? Is it not the violation of youth and student’s rights ? It’s a matter
of shame that there are thousands talented educated economically backward youths
of forward castes like Brahman, Rajput, Bhumihar and Kayastha who are struggling for
higher education and good jobs for the survival in this world.
The report of Mandal Commission reveals that millions of weaker sections are still suffering from atrocities and caste based inequality has surrounded all over the country. This reservation policy (political caste game) will put a hall mark to the budding youths and
they had to pay the high price. Though it is a boon for some socially down trodden groups but it is a bane for meritorious students.
