Fanaticism is one emotion that is creating problems all over the world. Religious fanatics are the ones who are to be feared the most for their reasoning and logical powers have been overshadowed by their own version of knowledge of the religion they follow.
Now who knew that a Hindu priest practising his religion worshipped goddess Kali Mata in Bhemomal area of Sind province on Tuesday would become one of them. According to police and eyewitnesses, religious rituals were regularly performed at the Kali Mata Temple established on the first floor of a house owned by Tekam Das Meghwar in Bhemomal.Tekam Das Meghwar, early on Tuesday morning, entered the residential portion of the house, after worshipping Goddess Kali for whole night asked his wife, Pavi, to bring milk from a nearby shop there was a power failure and while she was away on the errand,somehow a loving father and husband and a rational human being lost his mental balance and he slit the throats of his three minor daughters Parwati, 6-year-old, Reena, 4, and Aarti, 1, with a sharp knife and than sacrified himself to please Goddess Kali.
Poor Pavi when she returned her world was in shambles. She found the heads of her three daughters in a cradle placed in the room and her husband's body lay nearby soaked in blood. Perhaps he offered the heads of his own daughters to Goddess Kali and in a blinding moment of sanity realised the enormity of his action and committed suicide, one would never know.But one thing is for sure his wife and mother of the girls has been given a life long punishment for no fault of hers.
As per the report coming in another Hindu priest Bhagat Ashok told media that act of Tekam Das was foolish and it was illegal to offer sacrifice of even animals in Hindu religion. The incident spread panic in the town of Mirwah Gorchani as hundreds of people gathered at the spot. SHO Taluka police Rasool Bux Thaheem told media that after post mortem the bodies of the three sisters and their father were handed over to their heirs.
