Today’s [Jul 17 2009] tragic crash of an Iranian Caspian Airlines plane 16-minutes after takeoff that killed all 168 people on board must be blamed on the United States.
In the last seven years, five Iranian plane has crushed. 782 Iranians have died in these crashes.

American politicians like to feign concern for Iranian demonstrators. The number of demonstrators killed and injured does not even begin to approach the number killed in plane crushed due to America’s cruel economic boycott against Iran.
The reason Iran has had to so many plane crushes is because the United States and the European Union ban sales of Boeing and Airbus planes to the country. Iran had to resort to buying Russian-built Tupolev planes that are of lower quality. Today’s crush was blamed on technical difficulties.
If the United States would let go its boycott, today 168 Iranians would be alive. But instead it continues to enforce such a cruel blockade. That is why America has bloody hands here.
Next time you hear an American politician talking about his concern for Iranian protesters remember that he favors such a boycott.

An Iranian passenger plane with more than 100 people on board has crashed in north-western Iran, killing at least 77, state media report.
The IranAir Boeing 727 was flying from Tehran when it came down and broke into pieces near the city of Orumiyeh.
At least 26 people were injured, some critically. Reports said darkness and snow hampered rescue efforts.
Sanctions are one thing. But where is the justice in sanctioning civilian infrastructure? Of course the Israel lobby always presses for such sanctions against Muslim nations.
