Redux: America's LEAST Educated Cities & Smartest
So where are those poorly educated hicks?!!!
Jokes on you California! People on the West Coast often like to sneer at Southerners as a bunch of ignorant hicks unlike those ostensibly smart and cool Californians. And California is certainly an economic model of brains to behold. The state is home to the Silicon Valley genuine trust which has revolutionized the world: Apple, Google, Yahoo, Cisco, Intel, ect... And California boasts the creativity of Hollywood (albeit most of the produced features are garbage made by idiots for idiots or FIBI). And the state also is home to some of the best wines in the world and certainly fine wines are not raised by hicks.

But as smart as some parts of California are, the state is also home to the highest number of least educated cities. The Brookings Institute, a think tank, compiles a study of the least educated cities in America by calculating the percentage of people with a college education. And out of the top 10 cities with the lowest percentage of, at least, Bachelor-holders California boasts the most cities. Far more than any other state.
Scranton is number 10 with 21%
But California cities hold the following spots:
7) Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario 19%
6) Fresno - 18.9%
4) Stockton - 15.6%
2) Modesto - 15.1%
1) Bakersfield - 14.7%
So have of the top 10 least educated cities in America are Californian locales included the number #1. Arrogant Californians may retort that as the most populous state it is not unsurprising that they boast a lot of poorly educated people. But that doe snot necessarily mean that they have to rank in the top 10 or being 2nd and 1st. Many people would assume that some place in Alabama or Mississippi would be first, but, no, it’s in California.
And now you know why California has the lowest credit rating in the nation and staggering budget deficits and debt.
Redux: And now here's the reverse. America's Smartest Cities:
1. Raleigh-Durham
2. San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose
3. Boston
4. Minneapolis-St. Paul
5. Denver
6. Hartford-New Haven
7. (tie) Seattle-Tacoma,
7. (tie) Washington, DC
9. Portland
10. Baltimore
But dumber cities may not be so pretentious and up-their-own-ass all the time, and thus more fun and down-to-earth places to live in.
