The following recalls have been announced:
_About 11,000 batteries used in radio-controlled helicopter kits, made in China and imported by Hobbico Inc., because the rechargeable battery can overheat and catch fire while charging, igniting nearby combustible materials. The company has received 28 reports of batteries overheating and melting, most of them resulting in flames and minor property damage. No injuries have been reported. The recall involves the Electrifly lithium-polymer batteries, with the part No. GPMP0401. The product was sold individually or with Heli-Max Axe CP-L radio-controlled helicopter kits at hobby stores nationwide and online from November 2007 through March this year. _About 1,500 Amsterdam bicycles, made in Taiwan and imported by Electra Bicycle Company LLC, because the interior alignment tabs of the bicycle’s chainguard can be pushed against the chain, causing it to derail and posing a risk of injury to riders. The company has received four reports of the chainguard derailing the chain, including one report of minor cuts and abrasion from a fall. The product was sold by authorized Electra Bicycle dealers nationwide from January 2007 through June this year.
