PPP Not Afraid of Removal from Punjab Government
In response to the political bullying by the leading opposition party Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz Group (PML-N), the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has said that they would ask for a vote of confidence against the Punjab’s Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif (of PML-N) if PML-N chose to end their coalition with PPP in the Punjab government.
PPP’s minister Raja Riaz told media that PPP would be even happy if PML-N decided to end the coalition, sending PPP to the opposition benches, and proper action will be taken in response to the PML-N’s decision. He reminded that PML-N has violated the Charter of Democracy by indulging in turncoat politics. Mr. Riaz specifically condemned the illegal allocation of seats to the Unification Bloc by the PML-N led Punjab government.
Tensions are rising lately between the PNL-N’s provincial government and PPP’s federal government as PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif has already announced launching a countrywide movement against the federal government. A month ago, PML-N demanded reforms of the federal government through a 10-point agenda which was shortly followed by a 19-point agenda presented by the federal government to the Punjab government, asking for even greater reforms in the Punjab province.
