Power of democracy and the scared people

People's power in a democracy becomes the power of the state and how that power is being used by the state for the welfare of the people or against them will determine the quality of a democracy.State becomes stronger due to the collective strength of all individual citizens and is bound to make use of it for their cause.But this is not the reality.People are scared of their own representatives and servants.If they luckily get something done for them by these agents and servants then they feel obliged although that is due to them as principal and master.

Using the power of the people the politicians and the bureaucrats threaten them with the same power.Why the traffic is stopped or diverted when there is a visit or passage of the high political dignitaries?Are they really afraid of their own security only not caring about the security of the people from whom they get the right to get such protection?If they are really so much afraid then why not leave the position?Why they came to become the people's representatives if they can not face the people or take care of people's interests?Why not they work for creating such a situation that every one including they stay secured for all the time without extra security ?Why special security and arrangements for them if that can not be done for every one in the country?If they do not want to lead us without extra special arrangements then why not they leave the position giving the way for others who can come forward willingly to serve the nation honestly, sincerely,fearlessly and without special arrangements ?Do we not have the people among us who can lead us efficiently,honestly,sincerely,fearlessly,fairly and without taking special privileges for them?

Why we spend more than half of our resources and budget on making the provisions for special treatment,luxury food,travel and other privileges that they like,huge security,house and so many other facilities that a common man can not even imagine and understand, to our politicians and officials? Can this huge money not be utilised for the development of the country and the welfare of the people by providing them the real and good education,health and job opportunities?Why so much facilities are provided to politicians,bureaucrats, businessmen,cricket players,actresses and actors or any body else if the common man of this country is devoid of even the basic needs of life?We have a lot of efficient and capable people who can come forward when we need them and serve the nation on simple salary.Why to waste money on special privileges or facilities and protection?If some one is willing to serve the nation without special privileges and facilities it is weclcome for him/her otherwise he/she must quit.We have a lot of capable hands waiting for even a minimum payment for their services, we must first give a chance to them.
