Poor women across the globe get jobs in lebanon as house maids

When a maid starts her journey to come to Lebanon to work as a housemaid she starts an adventure to become a better person and better educated in the right way to act and talk and behave in life. Most of these girls are so poor they don't have toilets or running water in their houses.

When they arrive they come to send money to their families to feed them and to nurse their illnesses or to educate their children. That's when the challenge starts because most of these ladies come to Lebanon and they don't speak any English or french and it takes about 2 or 3 very frustrating months to start proper communication.

That's not Lebanese peoples fault because they are not expected to speak that maids language, rather it is that maid's responsibility and her government who is charging us money to supply her with a dictionary to use to be able to understand her employers to avoid problems and misunderstanding.

No one in Lebanon is disrespecting house maids from any nationality but rather no one is respecting their rights. Maids have to respect her employers just as her employers should respect her. It's enough and NO ONE SHOULD ACCUSE LEBANESE SOCIETY of abusing maids....ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!

I will not get into details of some abuse of maids towards their employers .We as Lebanese we are forced to employ maids because we want to facilitate for women to make careers and self satisfied without feeling guilty that they are not taking proper care of their families and children and spouses.

A woman cannot work full time and make a career or help her husband while at the same time cleaning the house and tutoring the children and looking after them and cooking and cleaning and even sometimes taking care of elderly parents or in laws.

Also when a person is old its customary in the western world to place elderly people in old people retirement homes where they are forgotten and neglected and they die broken hearted.While in Lebanon we try to keep them at home with their families and children and grand children while supplying them with a maid to keep them company and clean for them so we can keep them with us and still lead a normal life.

Is it so bad to employ foreign house maids to help us while they make money and better themselves? is it better for them to beg for food from us?

Give me your thoughts people please and be realistic and honest.
