Political stalwarts often play a dubious role and it is ever unacceptable
Yesterday with interest, early in the morning I opened Online Times of India. Unfortunately, I got disappointed to find a few of the latest news absolutely disheartening. The first one was, “2G scam: Raja ignored PM's advice, says CAG report” and the second, “US throws water over India's hopes for UNSC seat”.

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report on 2G spectrum allocation extracts stirred a major political storm and forced resignation of telecom minister A Raja.
Please allow me to depict a few lines in support of my caption. “…causing a whopping revenue loss of over Rs 1.76 lakh crore.” Despite our Prime Minister’s advice "back drop of inadequate spectrum and large number of applications received for fresh licenses."
Ignoring the Law Minister “The report said the presumptive loss caused to the exchequer through spectrum allocation to 122 licensees and 35 dual technology licenses in 2007-08 was Rs 1,76,645 crore” for which the government mopped up over Rs 67,000 crore.
‘The CAG, however, has given a clean chit to the PMO and finance ministry laying full blame on the Department of Telecommunication.”
“…The report specifically focuses on how facts about a top industrialist's substantial stake in Swan Telecom - it far exceeded 10% - were concealed while applying for the 2G spectrum license.”…
“The report lists not just companies but also the violations the auditor has found them guilty of. The licenses issued to various companies floated by the corporate such as Swan, Unitech, Loop and Datacom Allianz Infra involved several violations, the auditor has pointed out. As many as 85 of the 120 licenses were illegal, the CAG has said.”…
“What's more, the auditor found that 13 applicants were ready with demand drafts drawn on dates prior to the press release being issued, proof that they were aware of the minister's move.”…
The CAG audit is unique in many ways. For perhaps the first time in the history of CAG, the auditor has provided as an annexure file the noting of a cabinet minister in order to indict him…. However, Raja altered this, by applying FCFS on the basis of who first complied with the Letter of Intent conditions such as bank guarantee and entry fee.”
Sadly, with little knowledge in economics we are supposed to hover around the entire scam.
It is quite clear how disastrous the consequence is! We ask within how much do Hon’ble Minister A. Raja and his associates needed to lead a happy life. Or, they have had any political ambition to fulfill. Whatever it may be, evidently, this is not the proper way.
Yes, India is great for her renowned leaders in the forefront. We are proud of such stalwarts and our image in the world outside is so bright. We do hope that the returns collected from these scams will soon help the poor survive amid better food and shelter, with higher education in course of time. Thus Indian National Congress will evidently, win the next Lok Sabha election.
It makes us proud of Miss Mamata Banerjee, whose faithfulness in politics is accepted by large number of people around West Bengal and all over India as well. Our MLA election is ensuing and people will vote for bringing about a thorough change. Obviously so many cheatings, scams and what not during the last 34 years by the leftist will be brought to light.
O yes, Trinomool Congress is sure to win the ensuing election. Abruptly I conclude saying, India will be one of the big powers, inspired by such leaders to propagate spirituality for world peace aided by her ancient culture. Let human values be widely respected.
Now, what about the second report, which made me utterly disappointed? Strangely, “US throws water over India's hopes for UNSC seat”. Let me depict a few lines from the report of TOI for analysis.
“The US has cautioned against expecting any breakthrough "anytime soon" on the UN Security Council reforms, dampening India's hopes for a permanent seat just a week after President Barack Obama backed its quest for this prestigious slot.”—What an achievement, indeed! Then why did Obama ensure the endorsement of India for permanent membership in the UNSC during his visit to New Delhi?
During a digital video press conference Robert Blake, assistant secretary, told journalists in New York and Washington: "I would caution against expecting any kind of breakthrough anytime soon," Now, what did President Obama said during his deliberation in presence of both the houses of the Indian Parliament?
"I think the President and others have made it clear that this (reform) is going to be a long and complicated process and that we're committed to a modest expansion both of permanent and non-permanent seats," Mr. Blake, do we lack in such knowledge?
Blake also said Obama's enthusiasm for a stronger Indo-US relationship is not to "counterbalance" China's growing influence over Asia. O no, US is really afraid of China who seems to be economically strong enough and whose population is five times that of the USA.
Obviously President Obama sees India as a partner in the global non-proliferation space. But that is not the achievement in the light of his vast amount of business deal with Indian trade and industry.
In fact we know very well that there are many contenders for permanent seats as India, Japan, Brazil, South Africa and Germany.
"There's the whole question of the veto. And so we need to have a detailed and serious conversation with all of our friends who are competing for these seats," Mr. Blake finally added.
It is a fine seesaw game US playing with India. As we all know seesaw is a long plank balanced on a fixed support, on each end of which children sit and move up and down by pushing the ground with their feet. Or if it is said to be a Somersault, perhaps none will be there to object. We are accustomed with such dealings in politics. Otherwise why Bernard Shaw said, “Politics is a game of the ,,,”
Dear President Obama, you have to traverse through many adversities. Please do not toss your head like a county administrator. Do you know the story? Well, if you don’t, I will tell you when you will feel proud to pay a visit to Great India the next time.
O yes, with your children. They should have better education before they become young. There are scams in India but how the stalwarts at present tackles them are simply exemplary.
