The FBI says a man has been detained after allegedly making a bomb threat to police at Los Angeles International Airport.
Airport spokeswoman Nancy Castles says no one has been evacuated from inside terminals, but the upper and lower roadways near Terminal 3 have been closed.
Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Sterling Payne says the man told police Wednesday morning that he had a bomb in his backpack.
Police spokesman Jim Holcomb says the backpack was shot with a water cannon, but it didn’t explode. Authorities have not said what is in the bag.
The name of the detained man has not been released.
