Seven bank employees and a security guard were fatally shot in the head during a bank robbery in a town south of Manila on Friday, police said.

Police Gen. Ricardo Padilla said the victims were found sprawled on the bank’s floor in the town of Cabuyao in Laguna province after customers alerted authorities that the bank had not opened as scheduled at 9 a.m.

Two bank security guards were missing, leading authorities to suspect they were involved in the robbery, Padilla said.

It was not immediately clear how much money was stolen during the robbery.
