How can any human being can be so depraved as this scum on earth,Dr. Earl B. Bradley 56, a pediatrician was indicted by Sussex County grand jury in Dover, Delawar,US for sexually assaulting 102 girls and a boy who came to him for treatment.All of the attacks outlined in the indictment were discovered from video recordings that Bradley made, Attorney General Beau Biden said in a news conference in Dover, where he was flanked by state police and prosecutors.
Attacks on 103 children were documented by police some as young as 3 months old, Biden and Paula Ryan, chief Sussex County prosecutor, said the identities of only some of the children are known. They would not say how many of the victims have been identified. The kids were forced to engage in a variety of sexual acts, including intercourse, oral sex and fondling, the indictment said.He even raped one victim, Jane Doe No. 39,(names of the victims have been named as Jane Doe and John Doe) 15 times over 13 months.The vast majority of the crimes occurred since 2007, but the molestation crimes went back to 1998.Investigators from the state police and the FBI have completed their analysis of 13 hours of videotapes, computer hard drives and digital files seized from Bradley’s home and office.
Police and prosecutors have accused Bradley of almost unspeakable depravity – holding toddlers upside down and yelling at them while committing sex acts; penetrating a girl’s vagina with his hand when she was brought in for a sore throat, according to previously released court documents. In one Dec. 13 recording made three days before his arrest, a 2- to 3-year-old girl was seen screaming and trying to run away from Bradley, police wrote.
The attacks allegedly occurred at Bradley’s Disney-themed BayBees Pediatrics in a Pinocchio-themed examination room, a basement where he kept toys and other treats and an outbuilding Bradley was converting into a movie theater.
By bonding with the children, the burly, bearded doctor earned their parents’ trust and permission to take them alone to get toys, candy and ice cream.
What is more shocking was the inaction by authorities.Bradley’s arrest in December came after two previous attempts to build cases against him collapsed – once in 2005, when prosecutors did not file offensive-touching charges against him for excessive kissing of a 3-year-old girl, authorities have said, and again in 2008 after three parents told state police about inappropriate vaginal exams, but a Superior Court judge would not authorize a search warrant for his office.
He was not charged with a crime until December, after the parents of a nearly 3-year-old girl said on two occasions – in October and December – he touched her inappropriately.
Biden said investigators continued to build their case against Bradley through 2009 after the judge, who has not been identified, would not sign the warrant.
The scandal also has spurred two investigations – one by Biden’s office and another, independent review ordered by Gov. Jack Markell – into what went wrong in the earlier investigations of Bradley.
Charges include first- and second-degree rape, unlawful sexual contact, sexual exploitation of a child and continuing sexual abuse of a child.The attorney general urged parents and their children to continue coming forward to help authorities identify more victims.
Bradley moved his practice from Philadelphia to Delaware in 1989.Delaware law requires doctors and other health professionals, including the medical society and hospitals, to report unprofessional behavior or misconduct to the Delaware Board of Medical Practice, which licenses and disciplines doctors.
Biden said those who failed to flag Bradley to the medical board will be held accountable as his team focuses on putting Bradley behind bars for what could be the rest of his life.
