Pallywood strikes again…

POLITICS. .

In another staged incident, a “settler” was filmed by al-Jazeera and AFP still photographers running down two “innocent” Palestinian children. What the al-Jazeera clip of 9 seconds doesn’t show can be seen on YouTube, where the video clip lasts 53 seconds. What takes place in the 44 seconds that al-Jazeera “edited” tells the real story.

David Be'eri, head of a known settler group, hit two Palestinian children with his car on Friday, after they hurled rocks at his vehicle in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan.

The children were evacuated to Moqassed Hospital in East Jerusalem. One child is lightly hurt while the other sustained injuries to his chest and his lower body and is currently in moderate condition.

Be'eri is a well-known right-wing activist and is the director of Elad, a nonprofit organization that runs the City of David in East Jerusalem and also works to settle Jews in the area.

According to Be'eri, he was in his car with his son as the Palestinian children hurled rocks at them, and out of fear for his and his son's lives, he tried to escape them in any way he could which made him accidently hit the children.

Watch the 53-second video and several things become apparent: there are about 7 youngsters, some masked, some not, with rocks in their hands before the silver Subaru appears. They even let a red Fiat Uno pass without throwing rocks at it, as if they were waiting for a specific target. If you look carefully, there are at least three still photographers caught on camera by the video cameraman—were all four photographers there by coincidence or design?

Note the boy struck head-on ran directly towards the car—with a rock in his hand, which he threw at the car’s windshield. While the driver stops momentarily, others continue to throw rocks at his car. With that, the driver takes off and you can see as the car drives away that the rear window is broken.

Suddenly, a number of adults appear on camera, running to “help” the boy. Over his objections – you can see him holding onto the door, and afterwards the door frame, resisting being put into the van -- that will apparently take him to the hospital for his injuries. Where were all these adults just seconds before? Were they waiting off camera to lynch a driver that hit one of the kids and stopped? It’s entirely possible.

When interviewed at the hospital, the boy claimed he was walking on the sidewalk—a blatant lie, because the video plainly shows him in the middle of the street, running towards a moving car with rocks in his hands, masked.

Are we supposed to believe that this is a “poor victim of settler violence” or is he an underage terrorist?

The full clip supports the driver’s claim and rebuts the boy’s. This was no accident, but a carefully staged propaganda attack—with the collaboration of al-Jazeera and AFP.
