Palestinian Women Called "Whores" By Jewish Youth At Holocaust Museum

A few weeks back I wrote about how a bunch of Zionist fanatics attacked a Jewish landlord for renting an apartment to Arab, and Arab citizens of Israel mind you, students. The landlord did not back down and defended the students as excellent tenets.

When I posted that a bunch of Zionist apologists naturally pretended that this was a minor issue and just a rogue and fringe gathering of bigots which is not mainstream and does not reflect on Israeli society. Right. In the world of Zionists and Islamophobes they seek to amplify any Muslim kook and reduce from that a generalized indictment against all Arabs and Muslims, but when the extremism is in their own community - whether Christian or Jewish - they downplay it. So Muslim extremism is always used to smear all Muslims, but Jewish extremism has to be contextualized and really not a big deal. Even when the Muslim extremist is genuinely a fringe fanatic and Jewish extremism has a board following.

Such is this case. The renting to Arabs matter is now going away in Israel. Hundreds of rabbis have signed a letter endorsing this apartheid and discriminatory policy. And grounded their opposition in Jewish theology:

“The rabbis defend their ruling. It’s not racism, it’s halacha — Jewish law — that prohibits allowing Gentiles a foothold, Rabbi Eliyahu told Israel Radio: “We’ve seen what happens in mixed towns, our girls are tempted and this leads to assimilation.” “We don’t want this happening in Safed or anywhere else,” he said. Rabbi Dov Volpe was blunter. “State laws contravening halacha count as dust,” he said, making clear that the Torah trumps democracy.”

Can you imagine if a Muslim fundamentalist said “It’s racism, it’s Shari’a”? We’d hear a whole lecture of how intolerant Islam is and how this is a uniquely Islamic problem. But when a whole list of Jewish rabbis - 300 at last count - sign a letter calling for segregation and justify it in Jewish law the chorus of individuals who look high and low to attack every single malfascene when commmitted by Muslims somehow fail to bother when it comes to Jewish fanatics, at best, and actually endorse the racist policies, at worst.

And do not think this is fringe. Israel is becoming a more militant, more nationalist, more fundamentalist and more xenophobic society every day:

Israeli Jews are divided over a call by rabbis for Jews to avoid renting or selling property to non-Jews, with 44 percent in favour, and 48 percent opposed, a new poll showed Tuesday.

The survey, jointly conducted by Israeli and Palestinian pollsters, also revealed widespread pessimism about the chances that a Palestinian state will be created in the next five years.

And it showed a majority on each side fears an attack by the other.

The poll comes after dozens of senior Israeli rabbis, many of them state employees, signed a letter warning Jews against renting or selling property to non-Jews.

Human rights groups have said discrimination against Arabs and African immigrants in Israel is rising, and have criticised a series of proposed laws that activists have decried as racist.

The survey released Tuesday found 40 percent of Jews support legislation allowing small communities to refuse to admit new residents "based on social, national or economic suitability," while 48 percent oppose it.

Granted more oppose than support, but can you imagine if only 48% of Americans opposed religious-based discrimination?

And that 48% will shrink to 30% in a few years time given the right-wing drift of the vulgar Zionist state.

This week, a group of elderly Palestinian women were escorted to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance musuem to learn about the Jewish genocide in Europe. At the entrance of the museum, they were surrounded by a group of Jewish Israeli youth who recognized them as Arabs. “Sharmouta!” the young Israelis shouted at them again and again, using the Arabic slang term for whores, or sluts.
