Palestinian teen claimed killed by IDF “returns to life”
Maybe it’s just an Easter miracle—a Palestinian 15-year-old that Hamas and the Ma’an News Agency stridently accused the IDF of “murdering” has been brought back to life… or maybe his death was simply another Palestinian lie like the myth of the “Deir Yassin Massacre”, the “Jenin Massacre” or the elaborately staged “death” of Mohammed al-Dura…

Report: Palestinian teen allegedly killed by IDF returns home alive
By Haaretz Service
(No image of Mohammad Zeid al-Farmawi is available… does he even exist?)
A 15-year-old Palestinian who was allegedly killed by Israel Defense Forces soldiers on Tuesday returned home alive and well on Friday after spending several days in Egyptian custody, Palestinian news agency Ma’an reported.
The IDF denied Palestinian media reports that it shot Mohammad Zeid Al-Farmawi, a resident of the Qishtat neighborhood in Rafah, as he was trying to cross from Gaza into Israel, yet various Palestinian news agencies reported that he was found dead by paramedics east of the defunct Gaza International Airport.
IDF sources told Haaretz that a Palestinian had approached the fence but was driven off when troops fired warning shots into the air. The sources said the Palestinian was not hurt and that he seemed able to walk away from the area.
Gaza emergency chief Mo’aweya Hassanein told reporters in Gaza on Tuesday that medical teams and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) coordinated with the Israeli army to collect the boy's body.
According to Ma’an, Farmawi was among 17 Palestinians, including 12 minors, detained in Egypt after infiltrating the Egyptian side of Rafah via an underground tunnel connecting between Gaza and Egypt.
His family expressed “overwhelming happiness” that their son was in fact unharmed during a week of violent uprising along the border between Gaza and Israel.
Health Ministry director of ambulance and emergency services in Gaza, Muawiya Hassanein, said that following “huge efforts and contacts” to return the boy’s body, officials found him among the detainees in Egypt, Ma’an reported, and also quoted anonymous sources saying that the purported death was an “internal matter.”
Last week two Israeli soldiers and two Palestinian militants were killed in Gaza in an exchange of fire between IDF troops and Hamas operatives spotted planting explosives along the border fence, not far from the site where Farmawi was initially reported to have been killed.

I’m curious to know what Ma’an means by calling the boy’s death an “internal matter”. Does that mean that his alleged death was the result of a feud between two Palestinian groups? Does someone in Gaza plan to rectify the error in reporting by killing him? When Ma’an published the accusation claiming the IDF killed him, it stopped being an “internal matter” and became an international matter—within minutes of appearing on the Ma’an News Agency web site, it was picked up by al-Jazeera and a dozen other Arab news agencies reporting it as the truth.
Lies of this nature are nothing new on the Palestinian side. The continuing myth of the Deir Yassin Massacre” in 1948, even after both the BBC and the Bir Zeit University (a Palestinian university) investigated the story and both came, independently, to the conclusion that Dir Yassin was a pitched battle with heavy casualties on both sides, and Palestinian casualties of about 1/3 the number originally claimed.
Who can forget the poignant film of Mohammed al-Dura and his father that became an icon of the second intifada, trying to hide behind some oil drums while under fire? The entire world.
Who remembers that after seeing all the evidence (including the raw footage taken by a Palestinian stringer for AFP), a French court found that the entire incident was staged, there was no evidence of the boy dying (or even being wounded) and that any fire hitting either the father or the boy could not possibly have come from IDF positions without violating the laws of physics? No one.
The “Jenin Massacre” of 2002 is another myth perpetuated by the Palestinians, even though a UN investigating committee found that 56 Palestinians (not the “5,000 civilians” originally claimed nor the 500 that number was later “amended” to) , mostly fighters, had been killed at the cost of almost 30 IDF soldiers… another sign of a pitched battle.
As for the 15-year-old Mohammad Zeid al-Farmawi, what kind of “medical professional” identified a body they didn’t have? How could a person who wasn’t anywhere within miles of the location be killed, whether by Palestinian or Israeli bullets? Somebody KNEW it was a lie before the report was ever made. Most of all, what kind of human being puts a boy’s parents through that kind of Hell when they know it’s a lie?
IF the Palestinians really feel their narrative is justified, why the constant need for lies? Why is there a need for the “Pallywood” propaganda machine that manufactures even more death and destruction for Palestinians by making every death by natural causes another “victim of the occupation”?
Don’t the Palestinians have enough genuine grievances? Why do they have to manufacture more out of lies and fabrications? Or do they really have enough genuine grievances?
I really don’t care that there are people who reject any and all claims made by Israel out of hand—what I DO object to is those same people accepting every single Palestinian claim made, even AFTER the same claim has been proven a lie.
The people who do this have no interest in any kind of peace.
