Pakistani Justice- 2 Men To Have Ears And Noses Chopped Off For Doing The Same To Their Cousin
Young Pakistani Fazeelat Bibi refused to marry one of her cousins- her parents supported that decision, so she was kidnapped at gunpoint, a noose was placed around her neck and then her ears and nose were chopped off. The horrific practice of maiming and disfiguring women for rejecting a man is all too commonplace in countries like Pakistan. Acid is one preferred method, but whatever form of torture they use it is always to ensure the girl never attracts another man.

The abduction took place on Fazeelat's way home from work, in September,
.. after Fazeelat Bibi's parents refused to give her hand in marriage to Sher Mohammad, Mr Qadir said.
The girl's mother died from a heart attack after witnessing what had been done to her daughter. For their heinous criminal actions, Sher Mohammad and Amanat Ali have been sentenced to life in prison, with a little added bonus. Invoking a rare Islamic law (Qisas) that is rarely used or carried out, the brothers are to have their ears and noses cut off, as well.
Government prosecutor Ehtisham Qadir said the punishment had been awarded in accordance with the Islamic principle of "an eye for an eye".
Apparently, there were 3 others who allegedly helped in the abduction and mutilation of Fazeelat, but they have yet to be captured.
Although they deserve every year of their life in prison, cutting their ears and noses off accomplishes nothing. Pakistani Human Rights activists believe rather than 'an eye for an eye' there should be more done to prevent these kinds of vicious attacks. But hopefully the sentence of life in prison is a start. Perhaps men will be less inclined to harm women if they know there are sever consequences.
