That's the message being spread via digital billboards at the Staten Island Mall. They feature more than just holiday shopping tips — they also show pictures of shoplifters.
District Attorney Daniel Donovan says the anti-shoplifting campaign features the "mug shots" of repeat offenders convicted of ripping off mall merchants.
From now through mid-January, their nameless faces are appearing every six minutes on 11 digital advertising boards.
The ads will pop up about 2 million times during the holiday season.

But seriously, I wonder if this unconventional method will be a deterrent to shoplifting or if some people will consider it their 15 minutes of fame and think that it is cool.
