A woman who helped her boyfriend steal more than $8 million from an armored car company in Ohio has been sentenced to five years in prison.
Nicole Boyd of Youngstown admitted to stealing the money in November with Roger Dillon to escape financial hardship. Boyd and Dillon pleaded guilty in March to bank larceny and other charges.
Boyd had been expected to get less than the maximum 25-year prison term at Wednesday’s sentencing. Her attorney noted that she had no prior criminal record.
Dillon was a former employee at the armored car company and used another employee’s security code to steal a truck loaded with cash and checks.
Dillon is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday. His mother also pleaded guilty in the case.
