There are only two cases of girls less than nine years given birth and five instances of 9-year old mothers in the world. This is the first case in China of a girl becoming a mother at such a tender age.
But as per reports from Shanghai hospital more than 30% of surgical abortions which took place were those of school and college girls and maximum number of such pregnancies took place immediately after vacations, tragically many of these cases came to hospitals when the pregnancy was in an advanced stage.

What is horrifying is that the poor child must be eight years old when she was raped, the age when normally girls just start developing and the extreme pain she must have suffered before, during and afterwards is something one cannot even imagine. For nine months she might have been confined inside her home, the pain and humiliation of her parents when they found about their daughter,there is but one thought in my mind that justice should prevail and rapist should be punished.
