Of Greed and Shame
Here is one piece of news:
“The Burj Dubai tower officially opened yesterday, six years after construction began on the $4.1 billion, half-mile-high skyscraper. Conceived as a monument to the Arab city-state's economic ambitions, the Burj today looks more like a modern-day Tower of Babel.”- The WallStreet Journal.

And here is another piece that I found intriguing, and somehow worth mentioning after the previous piece:
“1.3 billion people living today on less than a dollar a day.- Half the world’s population lives on two dollars a day, and 800 million people are malnourished in developing countries.
- 1.3 billion people who have no clean water.
- Two billion people have no sanitation.
- Two billion have no electricity.”
Source
Yes, 4.1 billion DOLLARS were paid for building one building, while 1.3 billion PEOPLE live on less than a dollar a day… I am not sure if I am the only one who is angered by this, but damn this people, damn those money that were spent on one damned building while people in neighboring places are sleeping in hunger every night. Damn greed that makes people strive for money and fame rather than care for other humans who don’t have roofs above their heads in rainy days... It is a shame!!!
However, the story does not end here…
“Dubai has been wracked by a debt crisis, and the building stands mostly empty and unwanted by the international tenants for whom it was supposedly built.”- The WallStreet Journal...
And now is the time for me to say (AKA: write) my words of wisdome:
Humans need to THINK of the other, and act with more HUMBLE!!!
