Obama Now To Produce Academic Record
Donald Trump (whose, as one comedian notes, birth certificate shows that he was born with his head up his ass) boasted immodestly that he was very, very proud of himself to have driven an exasperated president to the indignity of having to present his long-form birth certificate. For an ego-manic like Trump it may have been one of his greatest moments in the light, but for America it unfortunately was an illustration of the petty insults that African Americans often experience, no matter class and education.

Watching Obama's tired face as he spoke about his birth certificate reminded me of the case of a 20th century celebrated African-American writer who despondently recapitulated in his memoirs that on the day he was to be presented with the National Endowment for the Humanities medal he was mistaken for a coat checker at a Washington restaurant. Many middle class and upper middle class African Americans suffer this indignity. That no matter how well-accomplished you are, how well-dressed, how high your attained position may be you are still asked to constantly prove yourself, still victim to petty racism, and afforded a smaller margin of error. It is like when the cool kid messes up in school, no will dare call him out on it. But if someone unpopular does it, he'll be ridiculed.
That was Obama's misfortune: To be a black president in a nation with a not-so-subtle racism still brewing. That Obama's stature had to be undercut by resentful whites, just as they dismiss many successful blacks as nothing more than beneficiaries of affirmative action. Obama was not afforded respect by these people. Instead there had to have been a reason to console themselves for why Obama did not deserve to be president.
And now Trump has grotesquely won his battle and is moving on: He claims Obama was a lousy student and needs to be provide his academic record. Trump alleges that Obama did not deserve to be admitted into Ivy League universities and that something unsavory was at play, because how else could an black man be accepted into Harvard?
This is racism, again. Why did Trump not ask how a demonstrably nescient, ill-spoken and known C student like Bush get into Yale and Harvard? Why was that not raised? But, instead, the black man is never good enough and must suffer one indignity after another, no matter how hard they work and how well they do they just can't ever met the White Man's approval. This is beyond vulgarity and obscene. It is disgusting to see a pompous child of privilege who inherited his father's company and is the embodiment of a self-entitled asswhip of a WASP charge that a black president did not deserve Columbia or Harvard. It is a classic racist attack by pretending to be going after the credentials and pretending it is all about that when it is actually about white seething to see a black man doing better. As Chris Rock once said (or something along the lines), "there is nothing a white man with a penny hates more than a ni**er with a nickel."
So true. For Trump, so true. This obnoxious white behavior should cease. Whites for their own self-preservation in a America where they will soon be the minority should stop pissing off, as Trump dubbed them, "the blacks."
